Vasile is a Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Talis Capital with more than 20 years of investment and entrepreneurial experience. Over his career, Vasile has helped scale a vast number of organisations from all stages of the business lifecycle. He holds (or did in the past) board positions on the boards of Darktrace, Luminance, IWOCA, Homelyfe, Learning People, PassTheKeys, CensorNet, PremFina, Beyond, Cygnet (among many others). He has actively contributed to key strategic decisions with a hands-on approach. Vasile also has extensive experience in building and scaling companies and is co-founder of several businesses including INTRESCO, Cygnet and Skwire.
Vasile holds an MBA degree from London Business School and speaks Russian and Spanish. He enjoys digital photography, psychology, wine tasting and travelling.
Managing Partner Ventures & Co-Founder
Matus is both an experienced entrepreneur and venture capital investor. Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Pirate Studios - the world's largest chain of music rehearsal studios, fully autonomous and live streaming equipped. Involved since inception with Threads - the pioneering chat-based ecommerce platform.
As an investor he has led or closed over 50 private equity and venture capital deals. Matus enjoys early stage investing, working closely with the entrepreneurs. Matus represents (or did in past) Talis on various boards for companies such as Onfido, iwoca, Pirate Studios, Threads, Import.io, eporta, Narrativ, Price f(x) and others.
Matus is passionate about world changing technology companies and spending time with entrepreneurs who are building them. Matus loves travelling and experiencing different cultures, he has lived in six countries and speaks five languages.
Bob is a Co-Founder of Talis Capital and an oil industry veteran, having worked for Rotterdam-based trader, The Vitol Group, for over 30 years. Bob served on the Vitol Board for 15 years, and has been instrumental in Vitol’s growth to one of the largest independent energy trading houses in the world, as well as successfully establishing Vitol’s entry into the coal markets in 2007.
Bob is also the co-founder of Finch Investments and a supporter of several charities including The Generations Foundation, The Vitol Foundation and Oil Aid.
Rohini is a Co-Founder of Talis Capital and has over 30 years' experience in investment and trading, having worked for Texaco UK, Neste OY and Vitol SA. Rohini has been a successful private investor since 2003, investing mainly in the natural resource and technology sectors. Her great passion is Conservation and she supports several charities in their work, most notably, The World Land Trust of which she is a Trustee.
She holds an MBA from the London Business School and a BSC (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from UMIST. She speaks French and Hindi.
Tom has eight years of investment experience and has an excellent investment track record. He has supported investments at Talis including iwoca, Utelly, C3, Reevoo, bd4travel, Senrio, Second Home, Pirate Studios and Onfido.
Prior to Talis, Tom was an asset manager at Dart Capital and worked as an execution-only broker. He has a degree from the University of Leeds, a Masters in Wealth Management and is a CFA charterholder.
Matthew De Jesus
Matthew has five years of investment experience at Talis and is heavily involved in all of Talis’ digital ventures. He supports the Partners on investments including Darktrace, Onfido, and Price f(x), leads on omni:us, and sits on the board of Pirate Studios and Luminance.
Matthew holds a BSc (Hons) Economics from The London School of Economics
Head of Investor Relations and Marketing
Emma joined Talis Capital in 2018 to handle Investor Relations and marketing. Emma’s role supports the investment team by managing LP engagement, cultivating and developing Talis’ networks, dealing with content, events, communications, media and maintaining the longer term business pipeline.
Prior to joining, Emma spent 6 years with London Stock Exchange Group in Equity Capital Markets, supporting private growing companies with their capital raising strategy. Emma had UK regional responsibility for IPO origination and built a vast key stakeholder network of corporates, investors and advisers. Emma also worked for Accenture, Ceros and Proctor & Gamble. She has a BA Business Management degree from the University of Leeds (with Industrial Placement) and is CISI qualified.
Beatrice joined Talis Capital in 2018 after spending three years working at Jefferies in their Investment Banking division, where she has been involved in several transactions primarily in the Technology, Media and Telecoms space with a combined value of c.$4 billion.
Beatrice holds a MSc in Risk and Finance from The London School of Economics and a BSc in Business Administration from Bocconi University. She speaks three languages and loves travelling, mindful meditation and wine tasting.
Kirill joined Talis Capital in 2018 after being an intern in 2016 where he supported the team on investments including Luminance, eporta and Price f(x). Kirill was a summer analyst at UBS in Hong Kong.
Kirill holds a BBA in Finance from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He has lived in four countries and speaks three languages.
Having interned with Talis in early 2018, Scott joined Talis as Graduate Trainee in July to work across the business gaining experience across number of roles. Scott supports the full investment team and has responsibility for analysing prospective investment companies, report writing as well as aiding with the financial management process.
He is completing his year in industry as part of his degree in Business Economics with Italian from Exeter University. Scott enjoys travelling and speaks three languages.
Davide joined Talis as Graduate Trainee in October 2018 to work across the business gaining experience across number of roles. Davide supports the full investment team and has responsibility for analysing prospective investment companies, report writing as well as aiding with the financial management process.
He has a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter and after his studying, he worked at Lamborghini in Bologna for six months. Davide enjoys racing cars, playing music and painting portraits.
Office Manager & PA
Chantelle is the Office Manager and PA. Prior to Talis Capital, Chantelle has worked for several UHNW families and Blue Chip Companies in London including BHP Billiton and Computer Sciences Corporation.
Chantelle has a degree in Purchasing Management, loves travelling and photography, and speaks English and Afrikaans.
Mike joined Talis Capital in 2019 from Pacific Investments, a diversified investment group, where he was involved in multi–jurisdictional reporting and tax planning/compliance for companies and partnerships across numerous sectors including financial services and real estate. Before this, Mike qualified as a Chartered Accountant at KPMG where he worked in their Financial Services assurance department.
Mike has a BSc (Hons) in Maths with Engineering from the University of Nottingham and is a CFA Charterholder.
Project Manager & EA to Partners
Prior to joining Talis Capital in 2019, Emily worked for OVO Energy as the Assistant Chief of Staff, supporting the CEO in the day-to-day running of the business. Emily then went on to project manage the creation of OVO’s new business unit, VCharge, managing all branding, PR, events, internal communications and governance. Prior to OVO Emily was a self-employed business consultant supporting a number of start-ups during their initial growth phase including crime reporting system, Facewatch.
Emily has a BSc (Hons) in Business Management and Economics from Cardiff University and is a registered Nutritional Therapist.
